Create NSW seeks arts and culture leaders for Artform Boards

NSW arts and cultural practitioners, including professional artists, producers, business managers and independent company leaders are invited to submit their expressions of interest for appointment to the 2021/22 Artform Advisory Boards.

Successful applicants will join current Board Members on the 10 Artform Advisory Boards and work with the Chairs in determining recommendations for arts and cultural funding and providing advice to the NSW Minister for the Arts on relevant strategic matters.

Create NSW Executive Director Chris Keely said applications are sought from across all artforms to contribute to shaping the arts and cultural landscape in NSW.

“The NSW Artform Advisory Boards play an important role in informing strong funding recommendations, and we are inviting expressions of interest from NSW arts and cultural leaders, from small and medium-sized organisations and major arts companies to individual practitioners and artists across all artforms to help us realise the arts and cultural ambitions and talent of NSW,” Mr Keely said.

“We are seeking interested individuals to match the drive and skill of our current board members, and who likewise represent NSW through diversity, equity, access and a passion to deliver outcomes for NSW’s arts and culture ecology.”

Board Members will help to shape funding recommendations that reflect NSW’s diverse creative eco-system for the following Artform Advisory Boards:

  • Aboriginal Arts and Culture
  • Classical Music, Opera and Choral
  • Contemporary Music
  • Dance and Physical Theatre
  • Festivals
  • Literature
  • Multi-arts
  • Museums and History
  • Theatre and Musical Theatre
  • Visual Arts

The NSW Government is committed to ensuring appropriate representation of women, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability and young people on Government Boards and Committees. People living/working in the Government’s priority areas of Western Sydney and regional NSW are also encouraged to apply for appointment to Artform Advisory Boards.

Expression of Interest applications for Board membership are open until 11:59pm on Monday 12 July 2021. Click for more information and to apply.
