$21 Million Injection for NSW Arts and Cultural Sector
Hundreds of arts and cultural organisations across the State will benefit from $21 million in funding as the NSW Government, through Create NSW continues to support the creative economy.
The targeted support will be a much-needed lift for regional galleries, community arts groups and other cultural organisations still dealing with the ongoing impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. This funding will give the sector a boost at a critical time when audiences and visitors are returning to venues.
Importantly, the package also includes targeted funding for Regional Arts Development Organisations (RADO) aimed at bringing our regions to life with programs and events that will increase and engage local and visitor audiences.
The comprehensive Rescue and Restart package will:
- provide additional funding to the hundreds of eligible organisations that were needs-assessed and received funding through earlier rounds of Rescue and Restart, including both large and small arts and cultural organisations, such as regional galleries and community arts groups
- offer an additional support package that will enable eligible organisations in need of further support to apply for funding
- deliver $1.65 million to the 15 Regional Arts Development Organisations (RADOs), focused on audience development programs.
Arts Northern Rivers Executive Director Jane Fuller said the funding is an acknowledgement of the value of arts and culture to the regions.
“This injection of funding to the NSW RADO network is incredibly welcome. The creative industries are leading the recovery and renewal in our region and for Arts Northern Rivers, it will go to directly supporting our ongoing range of recovery projects for the creative industries,” Ms Fuller said.
Organisations eligible to receive enhanced targeted support will be contacted by Create NSW.
