Theatre Fellowships now open for applications
Create NSW is again partnering with Griffin Theatre Company and Hayes Theatre Co. to deliver two theatre fellowship programs that will help budding NSW artists and practitioners develop new works under the professional mentorship of these renowned companies.
The Fellowships provide opportunities for NSW artists to produce and stage world-class productions for audiences:
- The Incubator Fellowship is valued at $50,000 (including in-kind support). Up to four theatre practitioners in the early stages of their career will be selected for a three-month residency at Griffin Theatre where they will develop a new work under the professional mentorship of the company. After the residency a final recipient will be awarded a $30,000 fellowship.
- The NSW Musical Theatre Fellowship is valued at $30,000. It offers a composer, musical director and/or creative team to research and develop a new work of musical theatre with the support of Hayes Theatre Co. The successful applicant or group will be awarded $25,000 in funding along with $5,000 of in-kind support from Hayes Theatre. The recipients will work alongside industry mentors and create a new work for potential presentation at the theatre.
Applications for the Incubator Fellowship and NSW Musical Theatre Fellowship are now open and close at 5pm AEST on Friday 17 September 2021.
