Calling all artists: Sydney Metro Public Art Opportunity now open!

Light Screens, Colourways, 2019. Metro North West, Rouse Hill Station. Artists: Turpin Crawford Studio and McGregor Westlake Architecture, with Hassell.
Create NSW and Sydney Metro are calling for artists to register their interest to develop nine new public art commissions for stations and public places on the new Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport line.
This is a significant opportunity to contribute to Sydney’s new metro railway, and growing communities, leaving a lasting impression on visitors and locals alike.
Public art in station contexts is a highly specialised field which requires a unique skill set. Create NSW and Sydney Metro welcome experienced public artists, collaborations and team-based applications to realise impactful permanent public art that connects to place and culture and aligns with requirements for large scale public infrastructure projects.
Aboriginal artists are strongly encouraged to apply for all commissions, and specifically for the three commissions which have been identified for Aboriginal artists, some of which are planned to have a Connect with Country focus.
The Expression of Interest (EOI) opened 31 August 2022 and will close on 31 October 2022 at 5pm.
