Create NSW is calling for musicians and venues to take part in Make Music Day on Monday 21 June 2021.

Make Music Day is a global celebration of music making across more than 1000 cities around the world and now in its fourth year in New South Wales.

Originating in France in 1982, this is a day of FREE music everywhere all around the city: street corners, parks, rooftops, gardens, and shop fronts. Unlike a typical music festival, anyone and everyone is invited to join and play music, or host performances.

Create NSW continues to build support in NSW for Make Music Day enabling musicians to perform in a range of spaces and forge new partnerships for opportunities for musicians and audiences. Create NSW is keen to build new partnerships across government and within the sector. In previous years we have brokered partnerships to get music events at stations, on trains, in botanical gardens, art galleries and town centres.

In 2021, Create NSW will focus on;

  • International Collaborations;
  • Building Partnerships;
  • Supporting Women in Music

How to get involved

Make Music Day, on Monday 21 June 2021, aims to focus on COVID Safe Live events in conjunction with digital events with local and international partners.

Please register your Make Music Day event via the Make Music Day website.
