Expressions of Interest for National Art School Board of Directors

Expressions of interest (EOI) were recently invited from people interested in being considered for appointment as a director of the National Art School board. That EOI process closed on 23 March 2018.

Following the EOI process, up to nine directors will be appointed at the National Art School AGM on 28 May by its shareholding members, the Minister for the Arts and the Minister for Education.

Appointments to the National Art School Board are also subject to endorsement by the NSW Cabinet.

Directors will work alongside the NSW Government and other key stakeholders to help achieve the School’s ambitions and secure its long-term future through the development and implementation of commercial, academic and philanthropic strategies.

Successful applicants are expected to have skills/experience/qualifications in one or more of the following:

  • activating and managing a commercial and/or cultural precinct,
  • philanthropy,
  • the visual arts, including National Art School alumni,
  • leading organisational reform and enhancing performance,
  • developing commercial, community and institutional partnerships,
  • audit and governance.
