“Creative Kids has allowed us to offer our programs to more young people in the area who have benefitted from being part of an inclusive creative community.” Daniel Potter, CEO, Shopfront.

Creative Kids provides artists, cultural practitioners, and arts and cultural organisations across NSW with opportunities to reach new audiences and grow business.

Creative Kids is a $216 million, four-year initiative designed to make it easier for school-aged children and young people to get involved in creative and cultural activities.

Parents, guardians and carers can claim a $100 voucher per year to put towards the cost of lessons and fees with registered Creative Kids Providers.

Vouchers can be used to contribute to registration, participation and tuition costs for performing arts, visual arts, coding, languages, literature, music and other creative and cultural activities, including Aboriginal cultural experiences. A full list of eligible activities can be found in the Creative Kids Provider Guidelines.

Creative Kids provides artists and organisations with opportunities to reach new audiences and grow business, and we encourage you to introduce programs that allow kids to explore the creative arts.

As of 1 January 2020, the Creative Kids initiative is being managed by a dedicated team at Create NSW, and our refreshed guidelines make it even easier for artists and cultural providers in NSW to register as a Creative Kids Provider.

Creative Kids encompasses a wide range of eligible activities, including:

  • lessons/workshops from drama workshops to language classes and lots more
  • cultural learning experiences such as Aboriginal cultural learning programs
  • participation packages such as attendance at a ticketed performance followed by a Q&A with professional artists.
