Create NSW’s Arts and Cultural Funding Program provides funding opportunities for arts and cultural organisations, professional artists and arts/cultural workers across a wide range of artforms and disciplines.

Individuals

Small Project Grants (Quick Response) support the creation, development and presentation of new work and professional development opportunities for NSW-based professional artists and arts and cultural workers. This quick response grant offers grants from $500 to $5,000 towards projects.

Closed Programs

Individuals

Project funding supports innovation, vibrancy and creativity within the NSW arts and cultural sector. Funding is available up to $60,000 towards a range of arts and cultural activities such as new project development and/or presentation, research, professional development, community and audience engagements.

The Incubator – NSW Theatre (Emerging) Fellowship is delivered in partnership with Griffin Theatre Company, to support emerging theatre practitioners in the early stages of their career.

The NSW Musical Theatre Fellowship (Established) is delivered in partnership with Hayes Theatre Co, to provide an opportunity for an established composer and/or writer and/or creative group to write a new work for musical theatre.

The NSW First Nations Creative Fellowship is delivered in partnership with the State Library of NSW to support a NSW First Nations artist to undertake creative research and develop a new body of work.

The Conductor: NSW Orchestral (Early Career) Fellowship is delivered in partnership with the Sydney Youth Orchestras to support the emerging and early career professional practice of an orchestral conductor.

The Beyond the Studio: Early to Mid-Career Dance Fellowship is delivered in partnership with Sydney Dance Company to support the development of emerging leaders in dance in NSW.

Organisations

Local Government Authority Arts & Cultural Projects Funding supports Local Government arts and cultural projects that are essential to a contemporary, innovative and strong arts and cultural ecology in NSW.

Project funding supports innovation, vibrancy and creativity within the NSW arts and cultural sector. Funding is available up to $60,000 towards a range of arts and cultural activities such as project development and/or presentation, partnerships building, community and audience engagements.

Annual Organisation funding is provided on an annual basis to support arts and cultural organisations (including service organisations) to deliver multiple arts and cultural activities to diverse audiences throughout a single calendar or financial year.

UK/Australia Season 2021/22 explores and celebrates the relationship between Australia and the United Kingdom (UK) across the arts, creative industries, and higher education. Organisations can apply for up to $100,000 to present work in the UK after March 2022.

Individuals and organisations

Service Needs Strategic Fund meets demand for additional professional development and capacity-building services across the arts and cultural sector.

Regional Arts Touring funding supports projects that provide access to arts and culture for audiences living in regional NSW. Funding is available for tours of all artforms, including performing arts, music, visual arts, literature, history, museums and multi-arts. Applicants should demonstrate strong audience development and engagement strategies.

Multi-Year Regional Arts Touring supports Arts and Cultural Organisations to deliver multiple arts and cultural touring activities over a four-year period.

The NSW Contemporary Music Regional Arts Touring (Negotiated) EOI supports access to a diverse range of contemporary
music experiences in regional NSW and building the viability of NSW musicians by developing new markets and audiences.

The Visual Arts Commissioning Program supports bold and ambitious new work by professional NSW artists and groups. In 2021/22 a commitment of $1 million is being offered to support commissions of up to $100,000.

Creative Koori Project funding aims to build support for a strong, resilient and exciting Aboriginal arts and cultural sector for NSW. Funding is available for $60,000 and above which supports arts and cultural activities for NSW Aboriginal organisations.

COVID Development Grants offer targeted support to individuals and groups of up to $5,000, and up to $10,000 for organisations in the small-to-medium sector in NSW in recognition of their role as important generators of cultural and artistic activity.

The SoundLab Residency Program provides an opportunity for up to four NSW-based musicians or groups of artists to make music and sound in a high-end technical space designed for critical listening, and the exploration of technology and sound. Successful artists will receive $2,500 in funding support from Create NSW and the use of Arup’s SoundLab for 2-4 weeks.

Small Project Grants for Make Music Day 2021 supports musicians to deliver a program of music on Sunday 20 June and/or Monday 21 June 2021. Six grants of $15,000 are available.
