NAIDOC Week Celebrations around the Murray Arts Footprint
NAIDOC Week is a timely opportunity for us to appreciate the contribution that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders make to our local community, and that certainly rings true for the Murray Arts footprint this year!
Murray Arts is thrilled to be inspiring regional communities with Aboriginal art and culture during NAIDOC Week. Murray Arts, in partnership with Arts Space Wodonga and Wodonga TAFE, proudly presents a rare chance to witness the finely detailed works of Eddie Kneebone, in his last series Bones of Contention. Two of Eddie Kneebone’s children, Scott and Leanda Kneebone, will officially open Bones of Contention at 5:30pm on Thursday 6 July 2017.
The North East Water Corporation, Murray Arts and Burraja Gallery will exhibit the works of local Aboriginal artists at North East Water’s regional headquarters in Wodonga. Community members are welcome to view the artworks during business hours, 3 – 7 July 2017.
Murray Arts is rolling out a NAIDOC pre-school program for the third year in a row. This incredible program supports the employment of Aboriginal artists and delivers an authentic cultural experience to 12 pre-schools.
