Peter Sculthorpe Music Fellowship – Emerging Composer
The Peter Sculthorpe Music Fellowship is offered by the State Government in partnership with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney and representatives of the Peter Sculthorpe Trust.
The Fellowship will support an exceptional emerging composer who is dedicated to the propagation of Australian music. Priority will be given to a composer with an interest in Australian Aboriginal music as well as that of the Asia Pacific region.

Who can apply?
- To be eligible to apply, you must identify as an emerging composer;
- be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident; and
- a NSW resident.
This Fellowship is valued at $30,000 and includes an additional opportunity, whereby the recipient will be hosted by the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with the opportunity to collaborate with its musicians, as well as Sydney and regional ensembles and artists.
The Fellowship will have a public presentation outcome in the form of a concert or other format, featuring a new work presented by the recipient as well as an existing work by Peter Sculthorpe which may be facilitated by the Conservatorium.
